Director of Marketing & Communications

About Temple Beth Am

Temple Beth Am is one of the largest Reform congregations and educational institutions in the Southeast, serving a vibrant, multigenerational community across Miami-Dade County. Our campus is home to three distinct pillars of Jewish life: Temple Beth Am (our congregation), Rambam Day School, and The Hub (our cultural arts center). We are a place where tradition meets innovation and where communications and marketing play a meaningful role in connecting families, fostering belonging, and amplifying our mission.

Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, mission-driven marketing and communications leader to serve as the Director of Marketing & Communications and as the de facto Creative Director for our entire campus. This role is at the heart of how Temple Beth Am tells its story, connects with its community, and grows its reach across three distinct and beloved brands.

The Director will lead all aspects of marketing, communications, branding, public relations, and creative output for Temple Beth Am, Rambam Day School, and The Hub. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves both strategy and execution — someone equally comfortable in a boardroom and a design brief.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Brand Stewardship
• Serve as Creative Director for all three brands, Temple Beth Am, Rambam Day School, and The Hub — ensuring consistent, compelling, and mission-aligned visual identity and messaging across all platforms.
• Partner with senior leadership, the Executive Director, and board members to advance key strategic initiatives and ensure marketing efforts reflect community values and institutional priorities.
• Lead the ongoing evolution of brand voice, design standards, and communications frameworks to strengthen connection with families and stakeholders.
• Identify and segment key audiences to improve engagement, participation, and long-term community involvement.

Marketing & Communications Oversight
• Direct and oversee all marketing and communications functions across the organization, including public relations, advertising, email communications, graphic design, and digital strategy.
• Manage and maintain the organizations website(s), ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging content that reflects each brands unique identity.
• Oversee the planning, creation, and distribution of all marketing materials, campaigns, and editorial content across print and digital channels.
• Lead public relations strategy, including media outreach, press releases, community announcements, and reputation management.

Team & Vendor Management
• Manage an internal marketing and communications team, providing leadership, mentorship, and clear direction.
• Oversee relationships with external vendors, freelancers, and agency partners including designers, photographers, videographers, and media buyers.
• Set and manage budgets across marketing functions, ensuring resources are deployed strategically and efficiently.

Community Engagement & Partnerships
• Serve as a communications liaison for community partnerships and co-branded initiatives, collaborating with local leaders and organizations to amplify our reach and impact.
• Support organizational events and programming through targeted marketing campaigns and on-site communications.
• Help position Temple Beth Am as a leading civic and cultural institution in the Miami-Dade community.

Qualifications

Required
• 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record managing multiple brands or organizational divisions simultaneously.
• Strong creative sensibility with hands-on experience in graphic design, brand development, or creative direction.
• Expertise across digital and traditional marketing channels, including email, social media, web, print, and PR.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to write with warmth, clarity, and purpose.
• Experience managing staff and vendor relationships.

Preferred
• Experience working in a nonprofit, faith-based, educational, or mission-driven organization.
• Familiarity with the Jewish community and/or synagogue culture.
• Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent) and email marketing platforms.
• Experience with website CMS platforms and basic SEO best practices.

What we offer
• A meaningful role at the center of a beloved and growing institution.
