Rabbi Robyn Fisher
Rabbi Robyn Fisher joined Temple Beth Am as a member of our clergy team in January 2026, marking a meaningful homecoming to the community where she raised her family and began her rabbinic journey.
She brings with her deep roots in the Miami Jewish community and an inspiring record of spiritual leadership, teaching, and community building. Prior to joining Beth Am, Rabbi Fisher served for more than eight years as the spiritual leader of Temple Beth Or in South Miami, where she shared her passion for creating sacred gatherings and drawing on ancient Jewish wisdom to bring healing, meaning, and connection to contemporary life. Guided by Judaism’s moral and prophetic call, she is deeply committed to the pursuit of justice and the protection of vulnerable people in both local and global communities.
A respected leader in interfaith engagement, Rabbi Fisher has worked extensively to build bridges of understanding and collaboration among diverse faith communities throughout Miami. She has served on the Board of Directors of People Acting in Community Together (PACT), Mosaic’s Interfaith Coalition, and Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Miami-Dade County Interfaith Advisory Board. Her work includes participation in Jewish-Muslim dialogue through the FIU Jaffer Center and COSMOS (Coalition of South Florida Muslim Association) Interfaith Dialogues, as well as advocacy through RAC-FL, Truah, and Jews for a Secular Democracy, advancing just immigration policies and protecting the separation of church and state.
Prior to joining Temple Beth Or in 2017, Rabbi Fisher served for ten years as Jewish Chaplain and Director of Student Engagement at the University of Miami Hillel, where she helped countless students make Judaism come alive in their lives. During her tenure at Hillel, she served as a Fellow for the Sholom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem and led dozens of Birthright trips to Israel. She has also guided numerous community missions to Israel, strengthening the bonds between the Diaspora and our Homeland.
On a national level, Rabbi Fisher is a past fellow of JOIN for Justice and the Clergy Leadership Institute. She is the recipient of Mosaic’s prestigious Humanitarian Silver Medallion Award for her interfaith work in the Greater Miami area and she recently received the Community Bridge Builder award from COSMOS, the coalition of Muslim organizations in South Florida.
She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami, is a retired member of the Florida Bar Association, and received her rabbinic ordination in 2017 from Mesifta Adas Wolkowisk Rabbinical Academy, a post-denominational seminary committed to inclusivity and flourishing Jewish communities. She is a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and currently serves as Second Vice President of the Rabbinic Association of Greater Miami.
She and her husband Randy have been married for 41 years and are the proud parents of Evan (Hannah), Ally, and Kara—all graduates of Beth Am Day School—and devoted grandparents (Bubbie and Zayde) to Max and Oren. Rabbi Robyn Fisher is thrilled to be returning to Temple Beth Am and looks forward to learning, leading, and growing together with our congregation.
