Rabbi Jason Cook

Rabbi Jason Cook joined the Temple Beth Am clergy team in the summer of 2026 after spending three years as a congregant and day school parent.

Prior to his time at Temple Beth Am, Rabbi Cook served college students within the Hillel movement, first at Rutgers Hillel in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and for the last three years as the Campus Rabbi at University of Miami Hillel. During his time at Hillel, Rabbi Cook taught students how to build a meaningful Jewish community, ensuring a continuous and vibrant Jewish future. Rabbi Cook was proud to pilot numerous innovative student programs with Hillel International, including developing a new antisemitism curriculum for students in the wake of October 7 that is now used across the Hillel movement.

Rabbi Cook is passionate about reading, critical thinking, and ensuring that the People of the Book keep learning. He often teaches on Torah, Hebrew Bible, Jewish thought, history, and Jewish literature. As a proud Rambam day school parent, he is excited to make an impact on youth and the future of Jewish life.

Rabbi Cook received his bachelor’s degree from American University in 2013 with a major in International Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. He was ordained by the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in the Spring of 2021 at the Cincinnati campus.

Rabbi Cook is married to Phylicia, who also works at Temple Beth Am. Together, they have a son who loves Rambam Day School.
