Erev Shavuot

As we celebrate receiving the Torah at Sinai on Shavuot, we also celebrate how we can continue to connect with Jewish teachings, rituals and traditions throughout the year.

Join our Temple Beth Am clergy in The Hub as we explore creative ways to honor our Jewish heritage on the harvest festival of Shavuot:

1. Text study with Rabbi Barras in the Adult Reading Room to hear the story of Ruth, and why we read it on Shavuot.

2. Flower arranging with Rabbi Greengrass in the Multi-Purpose Room as we learn the midrash of Sinai in bloom.

3. Create a cheesecake parfait with Cantor Coyot in the Top Nosh Cafe as we discuss why we eat dairy on Shavuot.

4. Stick around for a late-night screening of the Academy Award-nominated film “Footnote” with Rabbi Aklepi in the Frankel Family Auditorium in the spirit of Tikkun Leil Shavuot, the tradition of staying up all night studying Torah.

Plus, enjoy a dairy spread including cheesecake from Fireman Derek’s, White Russians, and more!
