2013 — Mindy, Jeremy, Dylan, Jessica & Connor Leathe

We Salute the Leathe Family, selected as the Committee of 100’s 2013 ‘Family of the Year’

Each year, Temple Beth Am is proud to recognize an outstanding family of volunteers. Congratulations to the Leathes — Jeremy, Mindy, Dylan, Jessica and Connor — who have been selected as recipients of the Committee of 100’s 2013 “Family of the Year” Award, for their continued participation in our Temple community and their ongoing commitment to congregational leadership.

Photo of the Leathe FamilyJeremy currently serves as a Director on the Temple’s Board of Directors. He participated in the Adult B’nai Mitzvah program and became a Bar Mitzvah in June 2008, participated in the Temple’s Atideynu program for young leaders in 2008–09, and served on the search committee for the Head of Day School in 2010–11. He currently serves as one of the Temple’s representatives to the Create a Jewish Legacy Campaign, and serves on the Temple’s Endowment Campaign Committee. He frequently attends Saturday Torah Study (when it does not conflict with one of his children’s soccer games), and listens to all Torah Study broadcasts for the Saturdays that he cannot attend in person. He also is a Director of the Professional Advisors Council of the Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

Mindy currently serves as the Chair of the Day School Board. She has been an active participant on that Board for four years, where she served as the Vice Chair from 2010–2012 and as a member of the Board’s Student Recruitment and Retention Committee from 2009–11. Along with Jeremy, Mindy also participated in the Atideynu program for young leaders in 2008–09.

Dylan (not pictured above) became a Bar Mitzvah in 2011, played in the Temple Beth Am Basketball League, and currently volunteers on Sundays as a classroom assistant at Temple Judea’s Religious School.

Jessica is a third grader at Temple Beth Am Day School. She has been continuously enrolled at the school since “Mommy and Me” class in 2005. She is currently a player in the Rookie Division of the Beth Am Basketball League, and previously participated in the Temple’s After School Program (ASP) for basketball.

Connor is a first grader at Temple Beth Am Day School. He has also been continuously enrolled at the school since “Mommy and Me” class in 2007. Connor participates in ASP basketball, and is looking forward to being old enough to play in the Rookie Division of the Beth Am Basketball League.
