March to Keep Families Together

Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018
Time: 4:15 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Meet at Temple Beth Am at 4:15 pm and Bus departs for Homestead at approx. 4:30 pm.

Join with the South Florida coalition of community
on Saturday, June 23rd in Homestead.

Torah instructs is to treat the strangers in our midst with justice and compassion: “When strangers reside with you in your land, you shall not wrong them. The strangers who reside with you shall be to you as your citizens; you shall love each one as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” (Leviticus 19:33)

While the executive order signed on June 20th may be a stay of this horrific practice, these families still have no path for reunification and keeping the family together by placing children in adult detention facilities is unsafe.

Our congregation reflects a wide range of political opinions, but we all can unite around our call to protect these children. Please join us.

Our delegation will meet at the
Temple Beth Am campus
at 4:15 pm on
Saturday, June 23rd, and depart by bus for
the Homestead site shortly thereafter.

We will gather with all of the other groups at 5:30 pm at the
of SW 288th Street and 137th Avenue in Homestead.

There is a $10 charge, which will cover round-trip
bus transportation, drinking water and snacks.
