Majesty and Holiness of Kal Nidre:
Kal Nidre in a Red Sauce Joint!?
Abe Benyunes, M.D. will continue to enlighten us about the beauty of Sephardic worship.
For most Ashkenazi Jews, the chanting of Kal Nidre (not a typo for Sephardim) with all its embellishments is the highlight of the holy day musical liturgy. However, for Sephardic Jews, it is almost an afterthought. The music, tone and substance of the Sephardic liturgy is very upbeat and, in some instances, joyous in contrast to most of the Ashkenazic liturgy.
Join us to learn more about the beauty of Sephardic worship… and what on earth is “a red sauce joint”?
