Through the process of teshuva that we begin on S'lichot, we humble ourselves as we seek repentance for our transgressions. Maimonedes tells us that the true penitent is the one who finds himself with the opportunity to commit the same sin yet declines to do it.
In this spirit, we welcome Angela King, Program Director of Life After Hate, a non-profit organization founded in 2011 by former violent extremists who are committed to inspiring individuals to a place of compassion and forgiveness — for themselves and each other.
Formerly recruited by neo-Nazi skinheads and a leader within the violent far-right extremist movement, Angela is now a prominent speaker and consultant who has been recognized by many organizations, including the ADL, for her tireless work to counter violent extremism, reduce prejudice and build communities of justice.
