5th Grade Immigration Day

Date: Wednesday, May 1, 2019
Time: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Social Hall/Sanctuary, Lewis Family Religious Life Complex

Each year, Temple Beth Am Day School's Fifth Grade students participate in Immigration Day, which is the culmination of a unit of study in their Social Studies class.

Immigration Day, a tribute to how our Jewish ancestors immigrated to America, is a simulation of the Ellis Island experience and includes costumes and writings.

Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

— From "The New Colossus," Emma Lazarus
