A 2-Week Mini-Course

November 6th and 13th
Part One will cover the fascinating history of the Jews of Spain and Portugal leading right up to the Expulsion from the Iberian Peninsula. We will explore why some Jews left and some Jews stayed, what were their occupations, how did they fit in to the rest of Society?
Part Two will deal with the period following the expulsion and the history of the harsh conditions that faced the Crypto Jews that were practicing their religion in secret as they tried to hold on to their Jewish customs while the wave of Catholicism slowly swept them away.

Genie Milgrom was able to fully document her unbroken maternal lineage 22 generations to Pre-Inquisition Spain and Portugal. She is the author of My 15 Grandmothers, as well as several other books om the topic. She is the Past President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Miami, as well as the Society for Crypto Judaic Studies. She has won numerous awards and accolades for her ongoing work.
