Shabbat After Dark
Celebrating 10 Years of Rabbi Jaime Aklepi
6:00 PM — Pre-Neg · Sanctuary Hallway & Terrace (Open to all, no RSVP needed)
6:30 PM — Kabbalat Shabbat Service · Sanctuary (Open to all)
8:00 – 11:00 PM — Dinner & Celebration · Social Hall, Lewis Family Religious Life Complex (Ticketed)
Ten years ago, Rabbi Jaime Aklepi joined the Beth Am family — and our community has never been the same. She has stood with us under the chuppah, welcomed our babies, guided our b’nai mitzvah, taught us, challenged us, made us laugh, and been there for us in our hardest moments. Her warmth, her authenticity, and her joy in Jewish life have shaped who we are as a congregation. On January 8, we celebrate her.
The evening begins the way Rabbi Aklepi would want it to: together in prayer. Join us for a nosh and a glass of wine before an enhanced Kabbalat Shabbat service filled with music, a special blessing for Rabbi Aklepi and her family, and a tribute video honoring her decade with us. The service is free and open to the entire congregation and community.
Then the lights go down and Shabbat After Dark begins. The social hall transforms into a glamorous, candlelit celebration and a sumptuous dinner featuring all of Rabbi Aklepi’s favorite foods, a dessert bar worth lingering over, a photo booth, and live music from Billy + The Kids playing the songs she loves best. Expect a few surprises and bring your dancing shoes!
Tickets — $118 per person
Attire: After-Dark Glamour, Shabbat-appropriate
Space in the social hall is limited and this evening is expected to sell out, so reserve early.
