BAFTY 78 (7th & 8th grade) is TBAM’s AWESOME middle school youth group! We meet several times a year for FUN activities, TRAVEL opportunities and MEANINGFUL programs.

It can be hard to stay connected to Judaism in the epic aftermath of your B’nai Mitzvah. BAFTY 78 is another way to EXPLORE your Judaism, meet lifelong friends, and have a blast! Some BAFTY 78 activities coming up this year are “Sushi in the Sukkah,” a Mystery Bus Tour with BAFTY, and a trip to Disneyworld!

Mark your calendars for a MUSICAL drum circle-themed BAFTY Takeover on November 7th during Monday Night CHAI!

BAFTY 78 also has a phenomenal travel opportunity to take part in NFTY-STR’s Hatikvah Kallah in Tampa from February 3–5, 2017. Middle school students travel from all over Florida to spend a weekend together making FRIENDS, celebrating Shabbat and participating in INCREDIBLE activities. Get excited for friends, fun and an adventurous BAFTY 78 year!

Check the Beth Am Calendar for a listing of all Youth Activities.

An important aspect of our programming is our membership with the Union for Reform Judaism's national youth movement; the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).

NFTY is comprised of over 450 youth groups spanning the United States and Canada and are divided into geographical regions. As a member of the Southern Tropical Region (NFTY-STR), BAFTY78 teens have the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from around the state of Florida when they participate in Hatikvah Kallah, a weekend convention, hosted by a Temple in our region. Hatikvah Kallah is our teens' first opportunity to get a taste of NFTY.
