About the Program

BAFTY 78 (7th & 8th grade) is TBAM’s AWESOME middle school youth group! BAFTY 78 meets every Monday night from 5:45–6:45pm during the first hour of Monday Night CHAI for meaningful and FUN youth group programs led by our youth group advisor.

Explore Judaism through the lens of pop culture, cooking, community service, games and more! BAFTY 78 is another way to EXPLORE your Judaism, meet lifelong friends and have a blast! It can be hard to stay connected to Judaism in the epic aftermath of your B’nai Mitzvah. BAFTY 78 wants to help celebrate your Bar or Bat Mitzvah! Join us this year for “J-Chill,” a monthly ice cream hangout for B’nai Mitzvah students! Get excited for this monthly YUMMY and EPIC study break!

Remember, BAFTY 78 meets this year during the first hour of MNC from 5:45–6:45pm!

An important aspect of our programming is our membership with the Union for Reform Judaism’s national youth movement; the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).

NFTY is comprised of over 450 youth groups spanning the United States and Canada and are divided into geographical regions. As a member of the Southern Tropical Region (NFTY-STR), BAFTY78 teens have the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from around the state of Florida when they participate in Hatikvah Kallah, a weekend convention, hosted by a Temple in our region. Hatikvah Kallah is our teens’ first opportunity to get a taste of NFTY.
