President’s Message
This summer has been anything but quiet at Temple Beth Am. Rather than a time of rest, it has become a bustling period of preparation and growth. With over 1,800 members in our congregation and nearly 600 children enrolled in Rambam Day School, not to mention record registration in our Youth Engagement Religious School (YERS), there is no time for complacency.
As we look toward the upcoming year, it is vital to have a comprehensive plan that addresses the needs and aspirations of our growing community. Our board members and professional staff have taken this responsibility to heart. Their dedication and strong commitment shine through in every initiative, each one enriching our community.
Nancy Levy and Jessie Berrin are organizing Rabbi Barras’s ten-year anniversary gala (save the date for January 8, 2026), which will celebrate our spiritual leadership and bring us together in appreciation of our vibrant community. At the same time, our holiday celebrations are being enhanced under the guidance of Andrea LeVine Kay, Judy Cowan, and Tamar Savir to ensure they better reflect the lives of our members and engage all age groups.
Jenna Citron Pinchuk and her team have started working on an alumni program to keep our connections alive even as our students graduate from Rambam Day School and YERS. We are working to ensure that they maintain ties to the values they’ve cultivated during their time at Beth Am.
Security is of increasingly paramount concern. Our new director of security, Lior Edry, is diligently familiarizing himself with our campus’s unique dynamics. His commitment ensures that all who come through our doors feel safe and secure, which is fundamental to fostering a nurturing community.
Our offerings at the Hub have been elevated, with Anita Braham at the helm. Her creative ideas and vision for a gathering place for our community are inspiring. We continue our search for a senior cantor thanks to Roman Krislav and Adrian Dubow’s efforts. In the meantime, we do have a cantor for the High Holidays to make that experience even more meaningful.
We are entering Elul, a month of reflection, renewal, and recommitment. Let us all carry this season of hope and renewal into the coming year, reminding ourselves that together we will flourish and continue to make Temple Beth Am a special place for everyone. Thank you all for being a part of this community. Let’s embrace the year ahead with open hearts and minds, ready for the challenges and joys to come.
B’shalom
