Journeying Through the High Holy Days Together
In this time of social distancing when many of us will be unable to gather together in person for the High Holy Days, Temple Beth Am is partnering with the Greater Miami Jewish community throughout the Hebrew month of Elul to create an enriching holiday season filled with a wide-range of virtual learning and growing opportunities to help us create deep, powerful connections that can transcend our physical separateness.
Our tradition wisely urges us to engage in the hard work of introspection, reflection and growth a full month before the holidays begin, so that we can be fully present and prepared for the awesomeness of these holy days. Our clergy has partnered with all of the Miami Jewish community's spiritual leaders, educators, musicians, meditation experts, and artists to interpret the themes of the High Holy days and contribute their gifts to this unprecedented collaboration.
As we learn from the description of the Temple menorah, whose lights all bend toward one another — when we shine our light upon one another, we create the Eternal Light of the Divine Presence. Let's come together to create light this 5781.

Recovery Through a Jewish Lens
The month of Elul, the month before Rosh HaShanah, is a time for self-evaluation.
It's a time we ask ourselves some pretty hard questions:
• Do I have a problem with alcohol or drugs?
• How do I know I have a problem and what can I do about it?
• How will this year be different?
• If I am in already in recovery, how can I strengthen it?
Recovery From Addiction is Possible.
