SUMMARY:The Everglades: In Celebration of Everglades Day and Earth Day
DESCRIPTION:TBAM in Collaboration with The Everglades Foundation and Tikkun Olam\nJoin us as we welcome Dr. Steve Davis, Chief Scientist of The Everglades Foundation, who will share insights into the history and science of America’s Everglades – the source of our drinking water — and why their restoration is critical to our economy and the extraordinary way of life we enjoy in South Florida. Learn more about science and politics of restoration efforts and how the successful completion of this work is helping create a more resilient future for our community in the face of climate change.\nA native of Ohio, Dr. Davis earned a PhD from Florida International University in 1999 with research in Florida Bay and the coastal Everglades. He joined The Everglades Foundation in 2009 as a member of the Science Department and became a key voice in support of the organization’s mission to restore America’s Everglades. He draws upon his 25 years of Everglades science and teaching experience, including 10 years as professor of wetland ecology at Texas A&M University, to lead science, communications and outreach efforts focused on Everglades restoration, ecosystem health, and impacts of sea-level rise.\nFree of charge with RSVP ( https://ci.ovationtix.com/36713/production/1194521?performanceId=11437144 ). \n
