Shevet Achim and Rosh Chodesh Groups
for 8th and 9th grade students
Moving Traditions believes that when Judaism promotes self-discovery, challenges traditional gender roles and celebrates a diversity of voices, it has the power to move our teens, our communities and Judaism forward. Through its field-tested programs, Moving Traditions creates experiences that inspire Jewish teens to openly explore fundamental questions of identity and society.
Rosh Chodesh and Shevet Achim are two complementary programs to create experiences for 8th and 9th grade girls and boys, respectively, a learning opportunity in addition to Monday Night CHAI that inspires Jewish teens to openly explore fundamental questions of identity and society.
The programs help teens reach their full potential by connecting relevant content with enduring Jewish values, and by fostering positive peer-to-peer relationships through our trained mentors. These programs empower Jewish teens to grow into adulthood with confidence, compassion and a lifelong commitment to Jewish community.
Life as a teenager can be stressful!
Between school, enrichment classes, sports, family and friends, teens have little time to decompress. Rosh Chodesh and Shevet Achim offer an opportunity to bond with friends, explore issues that are pertinent to your life, and learn about yourself and each other.
In a safe and close knit group, participants will develop a support network that will nurture their soul as well as give them the tools to navigate the journey of growing up as a Jewish American teen. Rosh Chodesh and Shevet Achim are programs from Moving Traditions. To learn more about these programs, visit movingtraditions.org.
