Welcome our new Executive Director
|Meet & Greet the newest member of our Temple Beth Am Professional Team,
Brian Chartock, at the Chai Members Shabbat Friday, January 10th
The Temple Beth Am community is delighted to welcome our new Executive Director Brian Chartock, who began his tenure on December 1, 2019. After an exhaustive search meeting with a variety of qualified candidates, the Search Committee in October unanimously recommended Brian's hiring, which the Executive Committee likewise unanimously approved.
Brian comes to us from Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, New Jersey, where he has been the Executive Director for the past three years. Over nearly 20 years, he has earned extensive experience with leading synagogues in the northeast.
Brian also served as a trustee and executive committee member of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Mercer County, NJ, was a trustee of the Central New Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged, Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County, and Rutgers University Hillel. Brian is a graduate of the joint program between Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Pamela, are thrilled to be joining our community, and we are delighted to welcome them. Brian and Pam are proud parents of Madelyn, 18, and Evan, 16. Brian is excited to grow with our congregation and day school, and partnering with our clergy, staff and lay leadership.
Our outgoing Executive Director, Bob Hersh, has given all of himself to Temple Beth Am for the past 15 years, and he has graciously agreed to stay on through the end of December to help transition Brian.
Please join us in welcoming Brian Chartock as our new Executive Director!
