The 2018–19 Harry Gunther Service Award

Congratulations to Joshua Kaye, 2018–19 recipient of The Harry Gunther Service Award, which is presented to a deserving Beth Am member who has worked for the benefit of the Temple community in a way which would be considered "above and beyond."

The award was presented at the Temple Beth Am Annual Meeting on May 19, 2019.

Joshua Kaye is now in his third year as Temple Beth Am's Counsel, and as such serves on the Temple's Executive Board. He works quietly behind the scenes advising our President, Management Team and Board of Directors on all legal matters.

When he isn't busy with Temple Beth Am activities, Josh is Managing Partner of the Miami Office and Chair of the U.S. Healthcare Sector for DLA Piper, a global law firm with attorneys located in more than 40 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Josh has taken part in multiple pro bono efforts involving the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, representing unaccompanied minors in asylum matters, and the Florida Legal Aid-Put Something Back Program in the representation of children with learning disabilities. He also oversees and has been involved in pro bono efforts involving Women In Distress, Inc., the Kids First Pro Bono Program and a variety of representations of nonprofit corporations with general corporate matters. He was recently named to the Daily Business Review’s 2019 list of Distinguished Leaders.

Josh and his wife, Angelina, are proud parents of four terrific children, who are all attending or graduated from Temple Beth Am Day School.

This award is named for Harry Gunther, a special man and founding member who made Temple Beth Am a high priority during his lifetime. His widow, Ethelle, remained an active member of the Temple Beth Am family for nearly 60 years until her death in 2013.
