Join your Beth Am Friends and Family for an exciting morning of Social Action Activities both ON-CAMPUS and OFF-CAMPUS throughout our Miami Community


Mitzvah Day is a FREE event, but we require advance registration as we have limitations regarding the various venues. ONLINE REGISTRATION — CLICK HERE

OFF-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES — Bus Transportation will be provided for all Off-Campus activities. ONLINE REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Virginia Key — Beach Clean-Up

Join Miami Waterkeeper to support a vibrant and resilient South Florida coastal environment! Volunteers will remove leftover Hurricane debris and other matter from Virginia Key Beach. All ages welcome. Many volunteers welcome. Wear closed shoes, and don’t forget your sun protection and a refillable water bottle.

Redland Middle SchoolCANCELLED

For the third year in a row, volunteers will help beautify the grounds of Redland Middle School, an underresourced school in Miami-Dade County, and help to enhance the learning environment for the children. Tasks will include weeding, power washing and more. This project is appropriate for participants of all ages. Bring your gardening gloves, hats and sunblock.

Pinecrest Gardens — Park Clean-Up

Spend a morning at Pinecrest Gardens, a treasure right in Beth Am’s backyard! Volunteers will work with Gardens staff to remove invasive species.
 Ages 16 and up. Limit of 20 volunteers. Wear closed shoes, bring water and bring garden gloves if you have them.


ON-CAMPUS ACTIVITIESONLINE REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Organic Vegetable Garden — Sorry, registration has been closed for this activity


Volunteers will create an organic vegetable garden on the Temple Beth Am campus. All ages welcome. Limit of 40 volunteers. Wear closed shoes, bring water and bring garden gloves if you have them.

Upcycling Clothing — Sorry, registration has been closed for this activity


Volunteers will create shoes from used jeans, to be sent to communities in Africa. This project also involves a clothing sort, to provide work, school and professional clothing for individuals in need in our community. Teens, young adults and families welcome (ages 12+). Limit of 40 volunteers.


Registration/Bagel Breakfast/Welcome: 8:00–8:45 am
Buses leave for Off-Campus Locations: 9:00 am
On-Campus Activities Begin: 9:00 am
Buses Return to Beth Am: Approximately 12:30 pm
