The Art of Spiritual Storytelling
with Rabbi Mitchell Chefitz
Any story can become a spiritual story. It depends upon intent and technique. Mitch will demonstrate how one takes simple stories through the worlds of experience, so they move from the entertaining to the intriguing to the profound. He will begin with stories from Hasidic tradition and continue with stories of his own. This is a program intended for all generations, and all levels of spiritual experience.
Mitchell Chefitz is the author of The Curse of Blessings, a story collection that has been translated into German, Korean and Mandarin, and its recently published continuation, White Fire: Angels Flying from Holy Letters. His novel, The Seventh Telling: The Kabbalah of Moshe Katan, was a Los Angeles Times bestseller. Beth Am veterans will remember Mitch as our Associate Rabbi 1975–1980. He is currently the Scholar-in-Residence at Temple Israel of Greater Miami.
