Virtual School to continue through
the end of the 2019–2020 school year
Dear Temple Beth Am Day School Families,
I hope all of you are staying as safe as possible and remaining healthy during this COVID-19 pandemic. This national — and global — health crisis has turned all of our lives on its head, especially schooling and your households.
Temple Beth Am Day School will continue with Virtual School until the end of the 2019–2020 school year. As announced by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at a press conference on April 18th, K–12 Florida schools should continue with distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Please know that all of the faculty and administrators miss your children being in the classrooms and on campus.
We know this has proven exceptionally challenging for many of our families and please know we appreciate all you have done to partner with us to provide an ongoing education for your children. We will continue to assess, improve and do all we can to make this as successful as possible. Starting this week, you will see much more teacher contact with their students in the Early Childhood program. This will include class time, and individual time, as well.
Please read my weekly Sunday Virtual School Updates (along with Fridays' Chai Lights). The most recent one includes a link to a Parent Input Survey regarding Virtual School. Your input is important. Also, continue to always go to the Parent Portal for important daily information and for all the tabs offered there to assist you.
Regarding what would have been our usual upcoming events: Spring Fair, Book Fair, Spirit Day and 5th Grade Graduation — please watch for my further communications and updates as we make decisions and plans around these happenings. Specifically, regarding 5th Grade Graduation, we are considering meaningful and appropriate ways to do this virtually, perhaps followed by a "Reunion Luncheon" in August or September.
Thank you for all your patience, cooperation and goodwill during these worldwide challenging times. Please see our Virtual School Distance Learning Booklet (also posted on Veracross).
