Mission Statement Temple Beth Am Day School, early childhood through the elementary grades, is an integral part of the Temple Beth Am community. The school integrates the teaching of Judaism in the daily living and learning experiences of its students. The mission of the school, in partnership with its families, is to endow students with a life-long love of learning, a healthy self-image and a strong and positive commitment to Judaism. Temple Beth Am Day School provides quality educational programs and excellence in general studies and Judaic studies in order to develop the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that will enable each student to grow academically, emotionally, spiritually and Jewishly. Temple Beth Am Day School also has a responsibility to connect its families with the synagogue and the Jewish community in order to perpetuate and secure the future of Judaism and the Jewish People.  Our HistoryTemple Beth Am Preschool was created in 1957 as part of Temple Beth Am. It was so successful that Rabbi Herbert Baumgard was encouraged to promote the establishment of a day school. Temple Beth Am Elementary School, added in 1970, quickly became the first successful day school in the southeast and truly pioneered the Reform Day School movement. Today, Temple Beth Am Day School is an established institution with an Early Childhood program starting with “Toddler Time” classes for infants from seven months and their parents, as well as Jr. pre-nursery, pre-nursery, nursery and pre-kindergarten. The Elementary School encompasses Kindergarten through 5th grade. There is a total enrollment of over 400 students and a professional staff of more than 80 employees. The Early Childhood summer camp has an enrollment of over 100 children with over 40 staff and volunteers. Temple Beth Am Day School has grown to over 45 classrooms with a fully integrated general and Judaic curriculum including Hebrew language instruction, physical education, computers, a large art and ceramic program and an enriched music program. The Derech Program, established in 2005, provides small classes for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. From Early Childhood to second grade, each class has a Master Teacher and an Associate Teacher. Third and fourth grades are partially departmentalized and fifth grade is completely departmentalized. A low student-teacher ratio enables our faculty to build on each child’s individual strengths and to provide appropriate challenges and reinforcement. Temple Beth Am Day School is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Association of Independent Schools of Florida (AISF) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Temple Beth Am Day School is an affiliate of the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE) and the Progressive Association of Reform Day Schools (PARDeS).
