The 2008–09 Harry Gunther Service Award

Congratulations to Donna Feldman and Mark Gilbert, 2008–09 recipients of The Harry Gunther Service Award, which is presented to a deserving Beth Am member who has worked for the benefit of the Temple community in a way which would be considered "above and beyond."  The awards were presented at the 2009 Temple Beth Am Annual Meeting, April 26, 2009.

Donna has served Beth Am in many important ways. She has been a member of the Board of Directors for several years, the last two as Treasurer, working hand-in-hand with Finance Director John Wenzel, instituting the new balanced budget, as well as helping to complete audits of our synagogue's financials for the past three years.

Mark also serves on our Board of Directors, and has been a Coach for many years in the Temple Beth Am Basketball League. As Commissioner of the league for the past four years, he has been instrumental in helping the league continue its stellar growth, as well as helping to transition the league into the new indoor gymnasium in the Hessel Family Youth Complex.

The award is named for Harry Gunther, a wonderful man who made Temple Beth Am a high priority in his life. His widow, Ethelle, remains an active member after joining our Temple Beth Am family almost 55 years ago.
